Alan Sugar's Apprentices of the future . . .

Pupils at our school have been challenging to be Alan Sugar's Apprentices of the future. They have put their entrepreneurial skills to the test ahead of the Parent Teachers Association Summer Fair on 12 July July, 2008.  Pupils were set a business studies challenge as part of their Year Six studies and were split into 11 teams of five or six, with each group having to put together a 'pitch' using Powerpoint to convince staff to lend them a starting budget of £10.00. The aim was to devise money-spinning ideas, with every team allowed to keep and share any profit they make, after returning their start-up £10.00  Ideas varied from key rings to stress balls, with most of our participating children putting their Apprentice - style selling talents to the test at the Summer Fair, when everything from bracelets to hand puppets were on sale.  Our Headteacher, Sally Wilmot said " A great deal of imagination - not to mention fun - has gone into the various business schemes, and the competition was keenly contested."
