Treacle tart

100g short pastry

100g golden syrup

25g soft white breadcrumbs

½ lemon

 

1. Heat the oven to 200°C, 400°F, gas mark 6. Line an 18cm ovenproof plate with the pastry.

2. Warm syrup and mix with breadcrumbs, lemon juice and grated rind.

                3. Pour syrup mixture onto pastry decorate the top with pastry trimmings.

                    Bake for 20 minutes
