Whittington P.T.A. Newsletter

SUMMER 2010

Thank you to everyone who helped at or attended our summer fair – and to all the teaching staff who supported us - we raised what we hope will be a record amount of more than £2,500 towards the ongoing refurbishment of the school library and other educational initiatives, including the highly successful Multi-cultural Week.

Thank you to Greggs the Bakers, Miss Taylor and her Off The Hook jazz and blues band, Step Up street dance group, and Whittington Guides for the use of their tents, and to all the additional businesses who donated a raffle prize, including Cake Couture of Whittington and Wow Castle of Fun.

Well done to Alisha Burton of year 2 who won the competition to design a programme.

Also congratulations and thank you to Mr Barsby who made the highest bid - £50 - for the football signed by the Nottingham Forest team and their manager.

A big thank you to Kate Taylor-Weetman for co-ordinating the Prize Draw for the last few years, and to Nikki Crane, who has kindly agreed to take it over from Kate. Anyone interested in joining the prize draw can contact Nikki on 300406.

We are still collecting your old printer cartridges, as they can earn money for P.T.A. funds when they are recycled. Please deposit all donations in the box outside the school’s main entrance. Thank you.

In the meantime, we would like to wish everyone a very happy summer, and we look forward to more fund-raising fun in the autumn. Thank you, The Committee
