Whittington Choir Children from the choir have performed at 2 concerts recently, one at the Garrick theatre in Lichfield and the second at Symphony Hall in Birmingham!
The Garrick The concert at the Garrick is run by the Rotary Club of Lichfield and this is the fifth year that we have been invited to attend. This year we sang a selection of songs from The Wizard of Oz. The children were absolutely wonderful and sang their hearts out to a packed audience. We had four soloists who performed their pieces with amazing confidence. The concert is a fantastic opportunity to perform on a real stage with professional lighting and sound systems. Well done to all the choir and a big thank you to Mrs Wilmot for her beautiful piano playing!
Symphony Hall
Staffordshire Performing Arts (SPA) invited us again to sing at this amazing venue, the best concert hall in Europe! On Sunday 8th March we joined a massed choir of about 300 children and staff in singing a selection of songs ranging from a sea shanty (Drunken Sailor) to a hymn (The Lord is my Shepherd) and many more. Yet again the children were amazing and sang incredibly well. The children also enjoyed listening to the Staffordshire Youth Orchestra playing. We are already looking forward to next year!
A big
thank you to all those parents who continue to support us at these
events. |
