Our ‘Stranded’ topic has taken Y5/6 to the deepest, darkest jungle.  To help them to survive they investigated the best type of shelter to make.  They first used teamwork to erect proper tents and then applied what they had learnt to making a shelter in the forest. They also experienced some orienteering
