During their study of the Amazon and its rainforest the children
became more and more aware of the importance of this natural
environment and how it is being threatened. They also began to
realise how they could help make a difference to the plight of the
Amazon and other rainforests. In fact they became so enthusiastic
that they wanted to share what they have learnt with a wider
community, from this came the idea of holding a Rainforest
Exhibition. The rest of the school and parents were invited to join
them in a celebration of their work and learning and was supported by
local Eco group WFEG and Boley CO-OP who provided ingredients for the
FairTrade biscuits. The children’s stalls exhibited information
about the animals of the region, Tribes, The Water Cycle, Products
from the Rainforest, Amazon Art, The Prince’s Rainforest Project, The
Amazon River, The Structure of the Rainforest and many more.
