The Garrick Rotary Club Concert On 7th Marhc 2007 Whittington School Choir set off to go out on a trip to the Garrick Theatre. At 10.00am we left school and were ready for a last practice rehearsal at the Garrick. Everything went swell and we were all ecstatic when we were at the Garrick, we even got to have a quick look at one of the others schools performance, it was really good! When we got back to school it was lunchtime so we had our lunch. At the end of the day, all the choir members ran out of the school gates. We all went home, had our tea, got dressed and was ready to go to the Garrick! The time had come and at 6.30pm all of the choir were at the Garrick in the dressing room. We were all dressed as hippies, as the music was from the 60's! It was time to go on stage and everyone wanted to chat but we couldn't as another school were performing, so we had to be quiet! As we were starting our first song: Strangest Dream, Mr Roberts-Thomas went in playing the guitar and Rachel D was playing the recorder, while Bethany H and Emily A were playing their flutes. The second song was "The song for Peace", the third song "Breaking Free" from High School Musical, the fourth song was "My Favourite Things", the fifth was "I am a Small Part of the World" and finally "Castle on a Cloud". All the parents were very pleased with our performances in the dress circle. The other schools performing were: Little Aston Primary, The Cathedral School, St Chad's Primary to name but a few. We would like to thank Mrs Loretto, Mrs Kendrick, Mrs Pavey, Mr Roberts- Thomas and Mrs Richardson, without them we wouldn't have been able to have done it!!!
