Goodbye and Good luck...... Mr Roberts-Thomas retired from Whittington Primary after being here since January 1985 after being at the school for 22 and a half years! Mr Roberts-Thomas said" It's a mixture of emotions, but I feel the time is right, it's time to move on to something new. I've been here a long time and teaching for 38 years. It's been exciting, but I will be ever so sad to leave, because I've made some good friends here with teachers, parents and governors. I am going to miss the school but I don't like the word retirement, because it makes me sound old and I'm not old, just more mature. I like to think of it as moving on to pursue a new life. I've been so lucky. As I look back what strikes me most is the people I've met. The adults and the children I have worked with, I have been so lucky." We had a fantastic collection for Mr Roberts-Thomas and was able to buy him a new laptop!! So he can listen to all his great "tunes" while he surfs the net!! Mr Roberts-Thomas will be remembered for his musical talents, his assemblies, his great sense of humour and his favourite sayings! Everyone will miss Mr Roberts-Thomas, he was a great head teacher one in a million!!! Mrs Clarkson also retired after being at Whittington for 31 years on and off!!
