A typical nursery day starts at 9am with parental contact time. This gives
parents an opportunity to settle their child or speak to staff before
leaving. Registration is at 9.15am, and then at 9.25am the children are
given an opportunity to access the activities independently and small
groups of children do adult focused activities. 10.15am is snack time,
where two of the children help to give out drinks and our healthy snack of
fruit, which is provided by the Government scheme to encourage children to
eat healthily.
At 10.45am the
children change into their wellies and coats for outdoor play. This area
provides the nursery children with a safe secure place for them to ride
bikes and scooters, climb on climbing frames and climb up and down the
hill. We have a canopy which provides shelter on colder days. We will also
be having some outdoor chalk boards and a washing line, so the children
are able to access areas of learning outside. At 11.10am the children come
back inside for a story or singing before going home at 11.30am.
