Steps

We have also introduced a 'Steps' procedure into all our classes to ensure that the children experience a consistent approach to dealing with any inappropriate behaviour which may occur from time to time. The detail of the system will vary slightly depending on the Year Group, but mostly means expressing the system in language appropriate to the differing ages of children. An important part of this is to make sure that the child understands that it is their behaviour that is giving cause for concern, and that there are strategies for dealing with it. There will be a fresh start at the beginning of every lesson or activity.
