Our DT project this term was to make a Christmas Stocking. The children produced their own design, made a paper template, then cut the materials to the required shapes. They then had to sew the stocking together, making sure it was secure and neat. The children used fabric glue to join their decorations onto the front of the stockings. Using wool the children made their own hanging string by twisting and turning the wool, this was completed with a glittery pompom. After the stockings were made the children evaluated them, stating what they found difficult (sewing) and what they would change (nothing). Great fun was had by all. |
